History of Reflexology - Reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China. In 1913 Dr William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the West as "zone therapy". He noted reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works on the hands an feet enabling the body to heal itself. After illness, stress, injury or disease the body is in a state of 'imbalance' and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively.
Reflexology can restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing.
A Reflexologist uses their hands to apply pressure to the feet. Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet. By working these points the Reflexologist can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the body. Tensions are eased, circulation and elimination improved. Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
It has shown to be effective for: back pain, migraine, digestive disorders, stress related conditions, arthritis, acute and chronic conditions.
Reflexology can benefit almost everyone. It is a safe, gentle therapy which enables the body to heal itself, and relaxing the mind and counteracting stress.
